Kosciusko 4-H Livestock Auction Set For July 12
Individuals representing various businesses, organizations and even private individuals will be supporting the future leaders of the community during the 2013 Kosciusko County 4-H Livestock Auction Friday, July 12.
This year, the livestock auction will start promptly at 10 a.m. in the show arena. The auction continues with no breaks throughout the day.
The 2013 sale will be in the following order: beef, dairy steer and dairy calf feeder steer, rabbit, goat and goat products, sheep, swine, dairy products, poultry and waterfowl, pork loins and rib eyes, dairy barn fundraiser, memorial garden-junior leaders fundraiser and a general projects fundraiser.
Tenth annual Sale of Champions will begin at 7 p.m. in the show arena. Lots representing the champion animals exhibited at the fair will be sold. The sale also includes the sale of the 4-H King and Queen kisses, annual fundraisers for the 4-H program.
Buyers may register at the 4-H office at the fairgrounds starting at 8 a.m. the day of the auction.
Last year, the auction set a record. It netted $350,924.80 plus an additional $6,956.49 from the buyers support group for a grand total of $357,881.29. There were 528 total lots sold, up 26 lots from 2011, with a total increase of $31,729.31.
