J.C. Napier
J.C. Napier, 83, of Pierceton, Ind., passed away at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013, in his residence.
On Dec. 5, 1929, he was born in Keokee, Va., to Milton and Beatrice (Stewert) Napier. He married Kaylene (England) Johnson on May 29, 1977, in North Judson, Ind., who survives.
JC was born and raised in Keokee and then moved to Culver, Ind., in his late teens. He worked in carpentry and was a specialist at Culver Military Academy where he retired from and later he also retired from Da-Lite Screen Company, Warsaw.
He was a member of Northern Little Dove Church, Pierceton, where he was a clerk for over 25 years and he enjoyed gardening, fishing and traveling to see those who were sick and in need of fellowship. JC was well loved by so many people; he loved his family, friends and church. He loved socializing with those he loved.
He is survived by his wife: Kaylene Napier, Pierceton; four daughters: C. Beatrice (Alan H.) Wentzel, Kewanna, Ind.; Susan Ruth (Lannie) Stecher, Nappanee, Ind; Cynthia L. (Neil) Wilkinson, South Whitley, Ind.; and Rita K. (Robert) Young, Elkhart, Ind.; three sons: Billy G. (Phyllis) Napier, Monterey, Ind.; James G. (Barbara) Napier, Culver, Ind.; and Greg (Pam) Johnson, Woodlawn, Tenn.; four sisters: Joan (Junior) Bush, Keokee, Va.; Ann (Russell) Bush, Closplint, Ky.; Jean Collins, Martinsville, Ind.; and Sharon Napier, Keokee, Va.; two brothers: Bill Napier, Detroit, Mich.; and Rex Berl (Brenda) Napier, Eastbank, W.Va.; 20 grandchildren: John David (Nicole) Wentzel, Stephanie E. (Mark) Keller, Emily M. (William) Dilts, Alison E. (Michael) Sehstedt, Shari (Edward) Bugayong, Shawn Sterkenson, Billy Napier II, Tyler Napier, Rebecca Stotler, Phillip (Cristy) Stotler, Paula (Kyle) Hochstetler, Todd Napier, Neil Napier, Denise Napier, Joshua P. Wilkinson, Caleb Wilkinson, Garrett Johnson, Kaylee (Paige) Johnson, Connor M. Young and Haylee N. Young; 42 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Milton and Beatrice Napier; his brothers and sisters: George Napier, Janet Kelly, Merle Napier, Ed (Poe), Bob Napier, Evan Napier and Luvella Napier; and a great-grandson: Gunner Johnson.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 16, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, and visitation from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, at Northern Little Dove Church, Pierceton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with Elder Russell Hicks, Elder Morris Wicker, Elder Estill Hamilton, Elder Harvey Tuttle and Elder Tom Vanzant to lead in prayer.
