The Incredible Dinosaur Show visited Milford Wednesday, June 19, as a part of Milford Public Library’s summer reading program.
Approximately 81 people attended to watch the prehistoric world of dinosaurs come to life.
The presenter began his show by using rings to help his audience understand that everyone is connected, even if they can’t see it, much like the connection humans have to dinosaurs. He then did a magic trick involving dysfunctional wands and a flower bouquet that wouldn’t blossom.
To give his audience a better impression of the size of a dinosaur he called a volunteer from the audience to help him measure. Together, they discovered that half of a tyrannosaurus rex would fit in Milford Community Building.
Another volunteer was needed to help with a T-rex puppet. As the puppet pretended to eat the little girl, the audience erupted into giggles. More laughter was heard when the magician had two participants dress as cavemen and hit him with clubs.
To conclude his program he read through a dinosaur book and had children identify what dinosaur it was. He also mentioned there are many dinosaur books to be found in the library, under the 567 nonfiction section in the children’s department.
Dominica Brito, a participant, said the show was “cool and funny.” Other children enjoyed it as well, leaving with smiles on their faces and stories about dinosaurs.
The next program is Food and Fun Dino Day on Wednesday, June 26 and will feature a dinosaur egg craft and other dinosaur related activities. Please come to Milford Public Library or call 574-658-4312 to sign up for a time.
