Irene Benson, 73, of Pierceton, Ind., passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013, in I.U. Health Goshen Hospital, Goshen, Ind.

On Sept. 22, 1939, she was born in South Bend, Ind., to Nicholas and Irene (Kovacs) Borsodi. Irene was raised in South Bend and then she moved to Kosciusko County, Ind., in the late 1960’s.

She was semi-retired from Midwest Rake, Warsaw. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and doing word search puzzles.

She is survived by three daughters: Chris Benson Sampson, Logansport, Ind.; Vicky Benson Peterla, Warsaw, Ind.; Nikki (Rob) Rose, Claypool, Ind.; six brothers: Tim (Sandy) Borsodi; Steve (Barb) Borsodi; Jerry (Ruth) Borsodi, South Bend, Ind.; Bob (Marie) Borsodi, South Bend; Jack (Pat) Borsodi, South Bend; Nick (Kathy) Borsodi, Arizona; two sisters: Sue Jackson, Lansing, Mich.; Ella ‘Toots’ Frederick, South Bend; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Eugene Borsodi.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 1, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, July 1, at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.
