Milford Public Library News
Summer is the perfect time to catch up on the reading you have been wanting to do. From new mysteries to trusty craft manuals, the Milford Public Library would love to help you find just what you are looking for.
Perhaps you are looking for some catchy tunes or a Friday night movie. Come to the library and find a variety of the old and the new.
The Milford Library Children’s and Teen’s Summer Reading Programs have been full of reading and a ton of fun. If you have not signed up, do not worry, there is plenty of summer left and you can come in and sign up whenever you would like. Here is a look at a few events we have coming up:
The Unofficial Hunger Games – 2-4 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 10 to 18 year olds. If you were stuck in the wilderness, would you survive? Creek Stewart, a wilderness and survival guide expert, or Clint Jivoin, featured on Discovery Channel’s series Naked & Afraid, will be coming to Milford Library.
Learn Hunger Games survival strategies including building shelter, signaling for rescue, discovering what you can find to eat, and finally, learn Katniss’s famous Twitch-Up Snare. Take home an orange back pack with survival items, similar to the tributes of the 74th Annual Hunger Games. There is a 25 student limit and you must be 10-18 years old to participate. Come in or call to sign up today.
Game Party Truck – 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, for children and teens. The Game Party Truck is headed your way! Do you like video games, concessions and fun? Then this event is for you.
Come to the event, get a number and then take your turn playing games. There will be concessions and fun things to do while you are waiting for your number to be called. This event is perfect for both kids and teens and will be held in the Milford Public Library parking lot. No sign-up is required, however, it is a first come, first serve event.
If you have any questions concerning the Summer Reading Program, events, or anything else, give the library a call at 574-658-4312.
