Bank Robbery Is Crime Of Week
This week’s Crime of the Week comes from the files of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
At approximately 4 p.m. Friday, July 12, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a bank robbery of the Farmers State Bank, at 205 S. Main St., Leesburg.
County detectives investigating the incident have stated that the suspect entered the bank wearing a dark colored mask over his nose and mouth area.
Witnesses and surveillance video depicted the suspect as a white male in his mid- to late-50s, approximately 6-foot to 6-foot 2-inches tall with grey or white hair and either a beard or goatee that came to a two-prong or fork-style point at his chin. The suspect was wearing a red ball cap, a dark blue T-shirt, dark colored cargo pants and white and silver running shoes at the time of the robbery. The suspect appeared to walk with a limp as he approached the bank.
The suspect fled the bank and left in an unknown direction driving a silver or grey, early to mid-1990 station wagon, possibly a Chevy Cavalier or Ford Escort. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and did not display a weapon at the time of the robbery.
