State To Release ISTEP Investigation Results
The Indiana Department of Education is planning to release findings today on the validity of spring ISTEP results. The state has been investigating issues associated with test administrator CTB/McGraw-Hill LLC that caused widespread glitches that invalidated
This year a total of 482,000 students completed the ISTEP examination. However, according to officials, 78,000 students were online taking the exam when server issues caused delays. The repeated interruptions that ensued as a result of these issues are believed to have potentially negatively impacted thousands of students scores throughout the state.
IDOE is working with the National Center for the Improvement of Educational Assessment to review the effects on scores. Last month, the state said it would seek monetary damages against CTB McGraw Hill that could reasonably go into the millions. (See related story)
