Warren Emory Thomas
Warren Emory Thomas, 105, a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., passed away at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, in Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw, Ind.
He was born Jan. 7, 1908, in Kosciusko County to Amos and Emily (McColley) Thomas. He graduated from Atwood High School, Atwood, Ind., in 1929.
Warren never married and served as a signalman for Pennsylvania Railroad for 25 years, retiring in 1973. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood, was the oldest member of Indiana Lions Club and a charter member of Atwood Lions Club, past member of the Atwood Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed a tour trip of the Holy Lands.
He is survived by a nephew: Larry (June) Thomas, Warsaw; two nieces: Jennine (Wade) Bentz, Indio, Calif.; and Darlene (Jim) Maurer, New Paris, Ind.; a sister-in-law: Virginia Thomas, Mentone, Ind.; and an additional three generations of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: Ward Thomas and Max Thomas; and a sister-in-law: Frances Thomas-Albrecht.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. The service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Thomas, former pastor Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood, Ind. Burial will be in Stony Point Cemetery, Atwood, Ind.
