Big Daddy Dupree Performs At Spikes
Big Daddy Dupree and the Broke and Hungry Blues Band will be playing from 8:30 p.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at Spikes Beach Grill, 310 Eastlake Dr., Warsaw.
Big Daddy brought the Blues straight from South Side of Chicago into Leesburg (see related).
When Paul Kornfeind arrived in 2008, he continued to pursue his dream of building a small Blues band and having fun playing the greatest genre of music known to man – the Blues. Over the past few years his dream has exploded into a reality of a full-blown nine piece, soul infused, low down and dirty Blues experience.
He brought together an extremely talented local group of classic rock musicians, most with 25-30 years of musical experience. The Broke & Hungry Blues Band is now a Blues force to be reckoned with. Their selections pay homage to all of the great forefathers of the Blues as they attack the classics.
The Broke & Hungry Blues Band is a band of the people, for the people. The band comes on stage flying and hit the crowd with a double dose of the Blues right between the eyes. They hook crowd with such sing-a-long classics as Mustang Sally, Hey Bartender, Caledonia, Born in Chicago and more. Then they break out the big guns and really get low down and dirty, unleashing some classics: The Thrill is Gone, Hoochie Coochie Man, Hard Times, Dirty Dishes and others.
Now they don’t forget about that little ole band from Texas as they burst into Fool for Your Stockings, Jesus Just Left Chicago and La Grange. Wrapping up the evening the boys let it all hang out with a thunderous rendition of Sweet Home Chicago sending friends and fans home with their songs re-playing in their heads for days.
If you want a great Blues band, with a big sound, that is tighter than a snare drum, then don’t delay and call Big Daddy before all of the prime dates get away 708-790-0538.
