Motorcyclist Killed In Early Morning Crash
A Warsaw man was killed early Sunday morning after his motorcycle struck a parked vehicle.
At about 1:21 a.m. Sunday, Warsaw Police and officers of the Kosciusko County Fatal Accident Crash Team were called to the 700 block of West Center Street. There, they found Larry R. Templeton, 55, lying in the road. Templeton was operating a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle that had struck the front of a parked Ford F-250 pickup truck.
The F.A.C.T. investigation found that Templeton had been eastbound on Center Street when he struck the truck. The impact ejected Templeton from the motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet.
Investigators say both speed and alcohol appear to have been factors in the crash. Witnesses who heard the crash told police they heard the motorcycle operating at a high rate of speed.
The crash remains under investigation by F.A.C.T. Warsaw Police and Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. were assisted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Multi-Township EMS and the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
