Bucher Places At Water Skiing Nationals
WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. – Syracuse resident Don Bucher recently placed top-five in two categories at the American Water Ski Association National Championships.
Bucher placed fourth in the Men’s 7 overall and fifth in jumping while also competing in slalom and tricks categories. The championships, held August 13-17, had Bucher also serve as an official and he attended the AWSA Board of Directors summer meeting as a Midwest Director. Bucher holds the title of Chairman of the Board of Directors for USA Water Ski, the national governing body of all water skiing in the United States.
Bucher qualified for the nationals by taking second in slalom, second in jumps, fourth in tricks and first overall in the Men’s 7 age group (65-69) at the Midwest Regional Championships in Center City, Minn. in early August. Also on Bucher’s list of summer accomplishments are top finishes at the Indiana State Championships that were held in Mt. Vernon, Ind.
