Robert O. Gearhart
Robert O. Gearhart, 91, Warsaw, Ind., and formerly of Silver Lake, Ind., passed away at 6:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born May 21, 1922, in North Manchester, Ind., to Ralph R. and Edna (Brown) Gearhart. On Oct. 17, 1943, he married Lois M. Montel. She survives.
Bob was a 1940 graduate of Silver Lake High School and served his country in the United States Army during WWII serving from 1942-1946. He enjoyed spending winters in Sebring, Fla., for 25 years. He was a farmer, raised cattle, and for 31 years was in plant protection at International Harvester in Fort Wayne, Ind. He attended Warsaw Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by two sons: Thomas L. (Elaine) Gearhart and Robert K. (Pam) Gearhart, both of Silver Lake; a daughter: Elaine K. (Dan) Drabenstot, Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren: Jacque (Al) Kruger, Todd (Jennifer) Gearhart, Jason (Jennie) Gearhart, Scott (Kym) Drabenstot, Kim (Jim) Zellers and Shawn Gearhart; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 SR 114 W., North Manchester. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the funeral home with Pastor Gale Janofski and Pastor Andy Weaver officiating. A burial with military rites will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, 600 Beckley St., North Manchester.
