Lafayette Man Arrested For Sexual Battery
A Lafayette man was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 27, by members of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department for burglary, criminal deviate conduct and the sexual battery of his ex-girlfriend.
According to Officer Rick Shepherd of the KCSD, on Aug. 22, Christopher Charles Simpson, 38, of 3016 Chinook Ln., Lafayette, pulled into the driveway of his ex-girlfriend’s home while she was home with her son. Upon seeing Simpson arrive, the woman sent her son into the basement to hide fearing trouble.
Simpson kicked in the front door, knocked her to the floor, ripped her clothes off and touched her in a sexual manner. Simpson reportedly left the residence following the incident. Police confirmed the woman’s account with physical evidence found at the scene.
The woman sustained an abrasion on her shoulder area and red marks on her neck. She also complained of pain to the shoulder area.
Simpson has been charged with Class B felony burglary, Class B felony criminal deviate conduct and Class D felony sexual battery. He is currently being held on a $10,000 bond at the Kosciusko County Jail.
