Wallace ‘Ed’ Ewing
Wallace ‘Ed’ Ewing, 92, of Pierceton, Ind., passed away at 3:25 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013 in Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw, Ind.
He was born July 22, 1921, in Tennessee City, Tenn., to Wallace and Mae (Spicher) Ewing. He was a lifetime Kosciusko County, Ind., resident. He was united in marriage to Betty Hamman on June 6, 1942, in Warsaw. She preceded him in death.
He faithfully served his country in the United States Army as a Military Policeman in the Asiatic/Pacific Theater during WWII from 1942-1945. He was employed by Sollit Construction of Elkhart, Ind., as a Carpenter and worked on many local school and commercial construction projects. He retired in 1983. He was Lifetime Member of American Legion Post #49, Warsaw, and attended Open Bible Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters Joyce (Jan) Zolman, Warsaw; Jane (Terry) Hill, Barbee Lake, Ind.; a son: Ed (Candace) Ewing, Stow, Mass.; grandchildren; Brad (Kathy) Zolman; Chad (Jody) Hill; Chip (Anne) Hill; Eddie (Katie) Ewing; Bernard Ewing, Sam (Ellie) Ewing; Tiffany (David) Kirk; 10 great-grandchildren; and friend: Norma Pinkerton.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 2, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Pastor Sam Carns of Open Bible Baptist Church will officiate the service. American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. Post #1126 of Warsaw will render military honors.
