John Hoffman
John Hoffman, 69, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away Sept. 9, 2013, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, Ind.
He was born June 17, 1944, in Trenton, N.J., to Pierre Rondo Hoffman and Elenore (Alloway) Hoffman. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University and served in the United States Army.
On March 17, 1991, he married Pamela Jermano in Richmond, Va. He was a resident of North Manchester, Ind., for two years but lived most of his life in Warsaw and North Webster, Ind.
John worked as a college text book salesman. He attended Victory Christian Church, North Manchester; enjoyed model railroading and was a member of North Webster’s Lions Club and its American Legion Post 253.
He is survived by two sons: Erik Hoffman and Lee Phillip Hoffman, Trenton, N.J.; two daughters: Jennifer Hoffman, Manville, N.J.; and Rebecca Samonski, Warsaw; two step sons: Jonathon Smith, Michigan City, Ind.; Matthew Smith, Florida; six grandchildren: Kassandra Kaiser, Sean Samonski, Rhiannon Willie, Heather Samonski, Renee Willie and Kaylee Hoffman; a brother: William Kenworthy; and three sisters: Shirley Hoffman, Florida; Barbara Hoffman, Trenton, N.J.; and Sheryl Kenworthy, New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Pamela Hoffman; three sisters: Edith Hoffman, Susan Kenworthy and Elenore Tharp; three brothers: Leroy Hoffman, Ronald Hoffman and Bruce Kenworthy; and his parents: Pierre and Elenore Hoffman.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. The funeral will follow at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the funeral home. Rev. Dudley Waites will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
