Valley Sports Wrap – Sept. 12
Caylie Teel led the way to victory for the Tippecanoe Valley volleyball team Thursday night.
Teel powered down a team-high 11 kills as the host Vikings defeated Triton 25-7, 25-23, 25-15 in a non-conference matchup.
Teel also led the winning defense for Valley with 14 digs.
Kelsey Eckert had a pair of service aces and Sara Alexander two blocks for the winners. Tenaya Shull had nine assists.
The Vikings now stand at 11-4 under first-year coach Mallory Eaton.
Valley won the junior varsity match 25-12, 25-19. Lexi O’Connell and Rebecca Murphy each had five kills for Valley. Maddy Heninger had 16 assists, while O’Connell had five aces and Maddi Miller, Abby Betten and Whitney Heneline each had four digs.
Tennis Team Notches Win
The Tippecanoe Valley boys tennis team rolled past Cass 4-1 Thursday.
Tanner Neeley led the way for the Vikings with a dominating 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
Isaac Shewman won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles for Valley.
The Vikings swept the doubles competition as Trevor Neeley and Logan Brittan won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1 and Willy Inglehern and Wyatt Nelson won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2.
Alex Kromkowiski won at No. 1 singles in junior varsity play for Valley.
