Fellowship Missions recently held a fundraiser to benefit their new shelter building. The event, which featured a banquet held in the unfinished building located at 1520 E. Winona Ave., Warsaw, was held on Thursday, Sept. 12, and saw approximately 100 guests.
The event included an open house for guests to walk around and see the unfinished building as well as artist renderings of each room, a silent auction, a program with testimonies, a keynote speech and a time of giving.
The fundraiser raised $97,701, which included personal donations, silent auction earnings and two room sponsorships. This total was matched by K21’s Matching Grant which brought the total to $195,402.
The shelter still needs an additional $154,598 to complete the renovation. There are still a total of 16 rooms as well as the exterior of the building for donors to adopt. The anticipated move in date to our building is early 2014.
