The athletic teams from Tippecanoe Valley Middle School had a successful night in competition Thursday.

The 7th grade A team beat Northfield 25-19, 25-17 in volleyball action. Sydney Howard had 13 points and six aces and Shayleigh Shriver had 13 points and seven aces for Valley. Morgan Olivarez had five points and two aces, ad did Anna Walters.

Valley defeated Northfield 25-20, 25-22 in the 8th grade match. Asia O’Connor led the winners with 13 points and three kills. Olivia Trippiedi had seven kills and five points, Cheyenne Oldfather had two kills and three digs and Shannon Dugan five points and four digs.

Valley beat Mentone 25-23, 25-13 in 6th grade A team play. Jillian Walls had seven aces and Alli Miller led Valley in passing.

The Valley 6th grade B team topped Mentone 25-17, 25-14. Karina Young led the winners with four aces and Emma Craig led in passing.

Haley Hoover notched a second-place finish for Valley in girls’ cross country action Thursday with a time of 13:40. Sarah Tucker placed sixth in a time of 14:59, Taylor Weber seventh in 15:13 and Lorena Santiago ninth in 16:13 for Valley.

Evan Lowman led the Valley boys’ cross country team with a fifth place finish in a time of 13:38. Domingo Santiago was 23rd in the boys’ race in a time of 16:43, with Alex Santiago 27th in 17:21 and Hunter Pacely 32nd in 21:06.
