The 15th Annual Shrine Turkey Shoot will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 12-13, at Beeson’s Gun Range 8994 W. CR 25S, Etna Green (just off Crystal Lake Road).

The annual shoot is to support Kosciusko County Shrine Club and its philanthropic mission to support local children’s programs. Local county Shrine Clubs, including Kosciusko, serves 107 patients and serves 1,170 patients in 21 counties.

Assistance is provided for children to the age 18, irregardless of the ability to pay, for treatment of the following conditions: diseases of bones, joints, muscle and tissue; foot and hand injury and deformity; cleft lip and palate; limb discrepancy or loss; spinal cord injuries; juvenile idiopathic arthritis; club foot; infantile and adolescence scoliosis; knee/hip injury or deformity; orthopedic conditions associated with cerebral palsy or spina bifida.

The Shrine Club is best known for the annual trip for third graders to the Shrine Circus with over 100,000 students taken free of charge.

The Turkey Shoot is a way for the community to support the local club. The public is welcome. Shoot a paper target, bring your own gun or one will be provided; shells are provided. Shoot for Maple Leaf Farms Duck, turkeys or ham or cash.

Age 14 and under shoot for free to win a Rossi .410/.22 combo provided by Little Hawks Guns. A raffle for a Henry Golden Boy .22 rifle with custom “Shrine” engraving is available. Total value of the shoot and auction is over $6,000.

Participants may come for the shoot or a sportsmen’s silent auction, which includes: a charbroiled turkey fryer, Ace Hardware gift certificate, Little Hawks Guns gift certificate, Target Rounds at Back “40,” Bronze Medallion military service items, softener salt packages, Milwaukee cordless drills, John Deere Gift Card, Big “R” Gift Card, Campground Cabin Rentals, Dunham’s Gift Card, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Hats, Kosco Gun Club Memberships, oil changes, charcoal grill, Keystone bean bag chair and prizes, golf and disc golf packages, Loose Moose Motorsports merchandise, Dewalt Tools, neon clock, wooden gun rack, neon light, novelty signs, gift buckets , metal “beer” sign or mirror, gift bags, boat rentals, food gift cards, TV wooden console, mystery gifts, landscaping mulch, or shooting and range bags, dining gift cards, stainless steel cooler, Wal-Mart gift card, cammo “Mud” gloves, pharmacy gift cards, Mill Gift certificate, or a night stay at the Wyndham Garden Hotel-Warsaw.

The Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County will have sporting dogs available for adoption during the event.
