Whitko Sports Wrap – Oct. 1
The Whitko boys tennis team closed out regular-season play with a win Tuesday night.
The Wildcats posted a 3-2 victory over host Prairie Heights.
Cole Bechtold led the way for the Wildcats with a straight set win at No. 1 singles.
Bailey Platt also collected a victory at No. 2 singles for the Wildcats, also winning in straight sets.
The Wildcats claimed the team win as Blake Castle and Tyler Baugher paired for a win at No. 1 doubles. Castle and Baugher rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win.
Whitko plays Warsaw Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in first-round action of the Warsaw Sectional.
Boys Soccer Team Falls
The Whitko boys soccer team ended up on the short end of a 6-2 final to Prairie Heights Tuesday night in South Whitley.
Daniel Kirkham and Thomas Wyman each tallied a goal for the Wildcats.
Whitko keeper Jacob Helton had 23 saves in the match.
