Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Tuesday, Oct. 1, 10:52 p.m. North Orn Road, Milford. Driver: Anson Davis, 22, West Emeline Street, Milford. Davis was traveling northeast on Orn Road and failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the road. As a result, he exited the north side of the road, struck a small tree and continued into a harvested corn field where he overturned multiple times and came to a rest about 100 yards into the field. Davis was taken from the scene by ambulance for treatment and smelled of alcohol. Deputy Popenfoose will investigate this criminal event. Witnesses reported that Davis approached the curve at a high rate of speed. Davis appeared to have an injury to his head from the crash. Damages: up to $25,000
Tuesday, Oct. 1, 6:49 a.m. West Lake Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Brianna Duff, 21, North Thayer Street, Bourbon; Carrie Dutton, 33, Stag Drive, Warsaw. Both drivers were westbound on Lake Street near Warren Street when Duff rear-ended Dutton in heavy traffic. Damages: up to $2,500
Tuesday, Oct. 1, 5:30 a.m. 1300 South, Silver Lake. Driver: Christopher J. Dotson, 48, North 300 West, Silver Lake. Dotson was westbound on 1300 South when, due to fog, he went of the roadway at a curve in the road. Damages: up to $10,000
Warsaw Police Department Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Wednesday, Oct. 2, 7:46 a.m. Ranch Road and Fisher Avenue. Drivers: Ryan Westby, 29, Marty Drive, Clinton Township, Mich.; Melissa Spangle, 43, Ranch Road, Warsaw. Both drivers were traveling north on Ranch Road when Westby rear-ended Spangle’s vehicle as she stopped at the intersection. Damages: up to $5,000
Wednesday, Oct. 2, 1:07 a.m. West Market Street. Drivers: Unknown; Aaron Isley, West Market Street, Warsaw. Isley reported that his car had been struck by another vehicle while he was legally parked facing eastbound along West Market Street. The vehicle who struck Isley’s vehicle continued without stopping and has not bee located at this time. Damages: up to $5,000
Tuesday, Oct. 1, 12:53 p.m. East Center and South Scott Streets. Drivers: Joshua Warner, 29, Lakeview Drive, Winona Lake; Fred Wolford, 87, Old 30 West, Warsaw; Orlin Miller, 51, West Liberty Avenue, Bourbon. According to witnesses on scene, Warner approached the East Center and South Scott Street Intersection traveling north and quickly attempted to make a turn in front of Wolford’s eastbound vehicle. The witness stated that Wolford, who had a green light, and Warner collided in the center of the street causing Wolford’s vehicle to be pushed into Miller, who was driving a Warsaw City truck and was making a pickup off the curb. Warner complained of pain to his shoulder and Miller also complained of pain. Damages: up to $10,000
Tuesday, Oct. 1, 11:59 a.m. Lindberg and Fort Wayne Streets. Drivers: Lucas Harvey, 39, Sheridan Street, Warsaw; Deanna Banes, 45, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Harvey was southbound on Lindberg when he pulled into the Fort Wayne intersection and collided with Banes, who was eastbound and proceeding through the intersection. Damages: up to $5,000
