Y.A.P. Outfits CCS Clients For Success
The Young Adult Professionals group of Kosciusko County recently held a clothing drive to collect professional attire for the clothing pantry at Combined Community Services.
Kevin Hamstra of Y.A.P., estimated approximately 14,000 pounds of professional clothing was collected in a two week period last month. The clothing – including suits, ties, skirts, dress slacks and even shoes – were sorted this morning at CCS, where they will be available for CCS clients in need of business clothing.
“We know the importance of professional clothes and saw the need for people who may be interviewing for jobs or starting a new job,” said Hamtra.
Y.A.P. was started in 2007 for young people to see what Kosciusko County offers and provide additional opportunities for them. Membership is free and open to those up to the age of about 40. The group provides leadership, social networking and encourages philanthropic volunteerism.
