Whitko Sports Wrap – Oct. 7
The Whitko girls’ soccer team saw its’ season come to a conclusion Monday night.
The Wildcats dropped a 1-0 final to Fort Wayne Concordia in opening round sectional play of the Class 1-A Fort Wayne Luers Sectional.
Keeper Jordan Hall had 13 saves for the Wildcats.
Concordia advances to play Heritage Thursday at 5 p.m. in a sectional semifinal. Heritage topped Woodlan 6-0 Monday night. Action continues tonight with South Adams versus Fort Wayne Blackhawk at 5 p.m., followed by Fort Wayne Luers against Fort Wayne Canterbury.
The sectional title tilt is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m.
Volleyball Team Loses To Northfield
The Whitko volleyball team dropped a 3-0 final to Northfield in Three Rivers Conference play Monday night.
The Norse topped the Wildcats 25-18, 25-20, 25-15 in the league match contested in South Whitley.
Whitney Hobbs led Whitko with five kills and five aces. Elaine Warner had 14 assists for the Wildcats.
Whitko won the junior varsity match 25-24, 25-22.
Whitney Marsh led the winners with seven kills. Haley Yohe had four aces and 14 assists for Whitko in the win.
