Defense Does It For JV Tigers
NAPPANEE – The Warsaw junior varsity football team was downright defensive again in another win Saturday.
The Tigers pitched their fifth shutout of the season by blanking host NorthWood 20-0.
Dylan Childers led the way for the winning defense with seven tackles to go with an interception and a fumble recovery.
Jack Higgins had six stops and an interception for the Tigers, who improve to 6-2 overall and 4-2 in Northern Lakes Conference play. Tyler Packard had five tackles and Mario Flores an interception for Warsaw.
Ross Armey paced the offense with 103 yards rushing and a touchdown for the Tigers.
Quarterback Ben Linky connected on 8-13 tosses for 127 yards, including a 37-yard touchdown throw to Jacob Wood. Zeke Brown had a 62-yard touchdown run for the Tigers.
Warsaw concludes its’ season by hosting NLC foe Concord next Saturday at 10 a.m.
