Jefferson Class, Vein Institute Partner For Troops
Vein Institute & Medi Spa Inc. in Warsaw recently joined forces with Sandy McClellan’s sixth grade class at Jefferson Elementary School for the third annual Operation Treat a Soldier treat bag drive.
The goal of Operation Treat a Soldier is to not only send a bit of the autumn season across the miles, but most importantly to let our soldiers know they are still being remembered and appreciated for the jobs they do. Each treat bag contained a personalized letter from the children along with various treats. According to organizer Susan Manns, 500 treat bags were collected throughout the community.
This is the second time Jennifer Kauffman, CEO of Vein Institute & Medi Spa, has partnered with McClellan for one of the soldier drives. “I love the students in her class. Last year we had a good experience sharing the stocking drive with her classroom,” Kaufmann said. “I have a nephew who served in Afghanistan for several years who recently finished his tour of duty. The troops need to know we love and support them.”
McClellan also noted that the service project allows her students to learn about our troops. “It is important today’s children learn about freedom and the sacrifices our soldiers and their families make,” she said.
