Gregory A. Masterson
Gregory A. Masterson, 64, of Goshen, Ind., and formerly of Nappanee, Ind., died at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at his residence of natural causes after an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 5, 1948, in Elkhart, Ind., to Gilbert and Lucille Masterson. On June 14, 1991, he married Libby Steele in Elkhart.
Greg was a 1967 graduate of Nappanee High School and attended Indiana University of South Bend. He served in the United States Army in Viet Nam, where he received marksmanship honors.
Greg grew up in Nappanee and lived in Elkhart from 1978 to 2004. They then moved to the Villages in Florida until 2012, when they moved to Goshen. He was a salesman and worked in management for 20th Century Fiberglass in Elkhart for many years. He was a member of Nappanee American Legion and Bent Oak Golf Club. He had enjoyed trap shooting since his teenage years.
Mr. Masterson is survived by his wife: Libby; a daughter: Breea (Alan) Nunemaker, Bremen, Ind.; a son: Batt (Makiko) Masterson, Greenville, N.C.; a stepdaughter: Lori Ann (Brent) Wampler, Indianapolis, Ind.; a stepson: Stephen W. (Jeanne) Steele, Goshen; six grandchildren; his mother: Lucille Masterson, Nappanee; sisters: Pat (Ronald) Elliott, Huffman Lake, Ind.; Pegge (Norris) Cutshaw, The Villages, Fla.; and Pamela Lynch, Nappanee.
Visitation is planned from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee. A memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. Rev. Tom Schiefer will officiate. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery.
