A medical condition is being blamed on a crash that happened at about 10:20 a.m. on SR 15 in Leesburg.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department report, Tammy Honeycutt, 41, of Warsaw, was northbound on SR 15 when she may have suffered from a diabetic condition. Her truck, a 2007 Dodge Ram, ran off of the road and struck a fence before colliding broadside with a red 2001 Ford F150 that was parked in a driveway of a private residence at 202 S. Main St. (SR 15).
After colliding with the parked vehicle, Honeycutt’s vehicle continued northbound approximately 1 block north of the initial impact where it came to rest against a tree stump at a private residence.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies, Multi-Township EMS and Leesburg/Plain Township Fire Department all responded to the scene. Honeycutt was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. A passenger in her truck, Sonja Wright, 9, sustained minor injuries and was also treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
