Teen Death Ruled Homicide
The teenage girl found dead in a Granger home Saturday night was the victim of a homicide. Elkhart County Coroner John White ruled Tiana E. Alter, 17, of Elkhart, died of “multiple sharp force injuries.”
The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday said they arrested a person of interest at the home on unrelated charges. Today, WNDU-TV reports Michael Shoun, 26, 29482 CR 1, Elkhart, was the person arrested at the home and that he has a criminal history going back to 2004, which include possession of a handgun without a permit and resisting law enforcement. Shoun was initially arrested for being a habitual traffic violator.
ECSD reports they are “making progress in the case” and are planning to forward the investigation to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office.
