Students v. Staff: Dodging Balls For The Hungry
Lakeview Middle School will be the site of a dodgeball tournament between sixth-grade students and staff from Harrison, Jefferson, Leesburg and Lincoln elementary schools. The event is being called Food-a-Thon Family Fun Night and is to benefit the local food bank.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, with the first match at 6:30 p.m. to include Leesburg v. Jefferson. The second match will see Harrison taking on Lincoln. A consolation match among the two unsuccessful teams from the first two games will take place right before the championship game.
Admission to Food-a-Thon Family Fun Night is two cans of food per person and everyone will receive a raffle ticket for changes to win door prizes. Attendees can earn an extra raffle ticket by bringing two additional cans of food.
The Colts cheerleaders will be at the tournament, courtesy of Dr. Michael Lyons II DPM. Get your picture taken with them for only $5.
Other events during the evening will be face painting for $1 and concessions will be available.
All proceeds will go to support the local food bank.
Guest referees for the night will be Roger Grossman, Nathan Polston and Dennis Duncan.
