Marilyn Litton
Marilyn Litton, 90, formerly of Huffman Lake in Atwood, Ind., passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, in Nursing Care at Hartfield Village, Munster, Ind.
She was born April 7, 1923, in Hammond, Ind., to Roy and Ruth F. (Miner) Mattix. She graduated from 1941 from Hammond High School.
On July 10, 1942, she married Kenneth A. Litton in Hammond.
Marilyn was a bookkeeper for the Hammond Public Schools; secretary for School City of Hammond and was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood, Ind. She enjoyed reading, cooking and gardening and loved living on Hoffman Lake.
She is survived by two daughters: Carol (Gene) Sera, League City, Texas; and Debra (Bill) McDillon, Highland, Ind.; four grandchildren: Amy (Sean) Ricketts, Beth (Ryan) Scheckel, Ken McDillon and Jonathan (Grace) McDillon; five great-grandchildren; and a brother: LeRoy (June) Mattix, South Bend, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth A. Litton; and a brother: Robert Mattix.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Her funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. Edward Cunningham, Terrace Park Church of God in Hammond.
