Wind Advisory Issued In Kosciusko County
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from 12 p.m. today until 10 p.m. Sunday evening.
According to NOAA, southerly winds of 25-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are possible through Sunday afternoon and will turn westerly by Sunday evening. Higher gusts and significant wind damage will be possible with any thunderstorms.
NOAA advises that scattered power outages and difficult driving are possible impacts of the strong winds expected today and tomorrow. According to NOAA, a wind advisory means that sustained winds of 30 mph or gusts over 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult especially for high profile vehicles. Extra caution is advised when driving during the weekend.
In addition to the wind advisory, NOAA also stated that an isolated strong to severe thunderstorm will be possible tonight. A moderate risk of thunderstorms will exist Sunday.
