Warsaw Catches First Technology Park Glimpse
This week, Warsaw city officials were able to catch their first glimpse of the development that will soon be the new Warsaw Certified Technology Park.
Dan Robinson of Robinson Construction led a tour through the construction site of Winona PVD’s newest building which, according to Robinson, will greatly resemble the shell building he and his team will soon construct at the park.
Though the project that was toured on Monday was much larger than the shell building that will be constructed for a new manufacturing company, Robinson noted the same steel, reinforced insulated panels being installed at the Winona PVD site will be utilized in the construction of the shell building. According to Robinson, the panels measure approximately 24 feet high and 8 feet wide.
The Warsaw Certified Technology Park is located on the north side of U.S. 30 between CRs 150 West and 200 West and includes the Robinson Business Park, the new campus of Ivy Tech and the recently annexed 100 acres at the northwest side of Silveus Lane and U.S. 30. (See related)
The park will be under the direct administration of Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer and the board of directors includes Charles Smith, president; Rick Snodgrass, vice president; and Tim Meyer, George Clemens and Jeff Johnson (See related).
The park is being looked at as the possible site of a new orthopedic research and education center. OrthoWorx estimates the investment of over $100 million in such a center.
Those in attendance for the tour included Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer, Warsaw City Planner Jeremy Skinner and Kosciusko Economic Development President George Robertson.
