Stolen SUV Struck By Train
An SUV that had been reported stolen was struck by a CSX train late Sunday night near Syracuse. The vehicle had apparently been abandoned on the train tracks.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department report, the 2002 Toyota Sequoia, valued at approximately $10,000, was struck by a train at 10:42 p.m. near Bishop Road, Syracuse. The vehicle had been reported stolen by Thomas Fry of Goshen.
The clean up took several hours as the vehicle was pushed approximately 1 mile down the tracks.
