Stockings For Soldiers Ends Monday
Treasures for Troops and The First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County is wrapping up its 4th annual “Stockings for Soldiers” Drive on Monday. As you head for Black Friday sales, be sure to remember our service men and women by picking up some treats for them.
Stockings for Soldiers allows the community an opportunity to send some holiday cheer to a deployed service member.
Anyone who would like to participate and fill a Christmas stocking to be sent overseas can pick up instructions at the following area businesses: Vein Institute and Medical Spa, The Warsaw Community Public Library, Outdoor Living Center, Manns Kountry Kitchen (Silver Lake), and the Silver Lake Post Office. Or, instructions and a list of items can also be found at the Treasures for Troops Facebook page.
For those opting to participate, follow the instructions provided when filling the stocking.
Shipping costs are very expensive and with the anticipated volume hoping to be collected, it is important that donated stockings are filled only with items on the list. Please note and stick to all ounce sizes of items requested.
Last year 386 stockings were mailed to troops. If you have any questions you may call 260-352-2678 or email [email protected]. You can also leave a message on the Treasures for Troops facebook page. You may donate as many stockings as you’d like from you and your family, just make sure each stocking donated is filled according to the instructions.
All stockings must be received by Monday, Dec 2. Filled stockings can be dropped off at any of the area businesses listed above during their regular business hours.
