Finish the Year with Cookies and Friends
The adult book club at the Syracuse Library is having more than coffee and conversation this month. The people attending may bring a half-dozen cookies to share at the Dec. 11, meeting. The book club is discussing the holiday books of Richard Paul Evans. Interested people are invited to come from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday meeting. The library offers the book club to encourage adult readers and to welcome new members into the community of library users.
Special Activities for Children
The monthly Children’s Book Club will meet from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10. Children from kindergarten to fifth grade are welcome to join in a special evening with a Christmas craft, Christmas snack, and Christmas books.
Book Buddies meets for the last time at 1 p.m. Thursday. Children ages 18 months to 5 years accompanied by a responsible adult are invited to come for an hour of activities. Each family is given a free book and learning materials.
Spend time in the Children’s department Saturday, Dec. 14, and make several holiday crafts. A child can use his or her handiwork as gifts, decorations or the for the pleasure of making something themself. Crafts are available all day during the library hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
