YMCA Kosco Kippers Place In Gymnastics Meet
The Kosco Kippers Gymnastics Team traveled to Lafayette on Nov. 23-24 to compete in the 2013 “It’s All Groovy” gymnastics meet hosted by Elite Gymnastics Club.
The Level 3 Team received a second-place finish with a team score of 107.05 The Level 5 team received a second-place finish with a team score of 101.20.
Level 3 age group individual results:
- Emma Skipper, 7, placed third in the vault with a 8.95, placed first in the beam with a 8.75, placed fourth in the floor with a 8.45 and placed third in the all-around with a 33.925
- Erica Bugg, 8, placed first in the vault with a 9.175, placed second in the bars with a 9.00 and placed sixth in the all-around with a 34.075
- Lori Davila, 8, placed fourth in the vault with a 8.775 and placed 11th in the all-around with a 31.125
- Olivia Ousley, 8, placed fourth in the vault with a 8.775, placed fourth in the bars with a 8.75, placed first in the beam with a 9.25, and placed second in the all-around with a 35.075
- Allison Heinrich, 10, placed fourth in the vault with a 9.00, placed second in the bars with a 8.6, placed first in the beam with a 9.125, placed second in the floor with a 9.125 and placed second in the all-around with a 35.85
- Mariah Leininger, 10, placed seventh in the bars with a 8.475 and placed 12th in the all-around with a 31.90
- Mayci Schlichter, 10, placed sixth in the beam with a 8.325, placed sixth in the floor with a 8.25 and placed seventh in the all-around with a 33.325
- Emma Simerl, 10, placed seventh in the vault with a 8.825, placed second in the bars with a 8.60, placed seventh in the floor with a 8.15 and placed eight in the all-around with a 33.275
- Kayla Reynolds, 11, placed fourth in the vault with a 9.025, placed fifth in the bars with a 8.725, and placed seventh in the all-around with a 34.15
- Megan Metzger, 12, placed fifth in the beam with 8.55, placed fourth in the floor with a 8.675 and placed sixth in the all-around with a 34.50.
Level 5 age group individual results:
- Sydni Purvis, 9, placed third in the vault with a 8.90, placed first in the bars with a 8.55 and placed second in the all-around with a 33.30
- Adree Beckham, 11, placed second in the vault with a 8.925, placed second in the beam with a 8.85 and placed third in the all-around with a 33.225
- Drey Wegener, 11, placed third in the beam with a 8.75 and placed sixth in the all-around with a 32.85
- Alyssa Minnix, 12, placed fourth in the vault with a 9.00, placed fourth in the floor with a 8.65 and fifth in the all-around with a 33.675.
Level 6 age group individual results:
- Remi Beckham, 12, placed fourth in the vault with a 8.975, placed second in the beam with a 9.00, placed fourth in the floor with a 8.975, and fifth in the all-around with a 34.40.
Level 8 age group individual results:
- Jazzmine Brown, 16, placed second in the vault with a 8.375 and placed fifth in the all-around with a 31.475.
Xcel age group individual results:
- Anna Wainscott, 13, placed third on the beam with a 8.80 and 11th in the all-around with a 34.25.
Of the 26 member team, 16 are qualified for the USAG State Meet which will be held during the months of March and April. Each gymnast needs to receive a 32.00 or higher all-around score at two different gymnastics meets throughout the season.
The Kosco Kippers will be back in action Dec. 14-15 in Indianapolis.
