Unbeaten Plymouth Tops Vikings
PLYMOUTH – A big second-quarter performance paced Plymouth past Tippecanoe Valley in girls basketball action Thursday night.
The host Pilgrims outscored the Vikings 17-4 in the pivotal period en route to a 49-33 win.
Plymouth, which improves to 6-0, led just 6-4 after the first quarter before the big second quarter.
Cara Hoffman led the way for the Vikings as the senior guard tallied a team-high 12 points.
Anne Secrest continued her outstanding freshman season for Valley with 10 points and 14 rebounds in the contest. Karis Tucker had five points for the Vikings, who drop to 3-2 on the season.
Hunter Stevens had a huge night for the Pilgrims. Stevens scored a game-high 25 points, hitting 9-12 shots from the field and 7-9 free throws.
Valley opens Three Rivers Conference play at Wabash Saturday night. Plymouth plays at South Bend Washington Wednesday.
