Trojans Roll To Dominating Win
DENVER – A fast start and a lights-out shooting performance carried the Triton boys basketball team to a big win Tuesday night.
The Trojans were on fire from long range in routing host North Miami 85-47.
Triton, ranked No. 7 in Class 1-A, bolted to a 25-1 lead after the opening quarter and led 50-14 at halftime. The Trojans hit 10 treys in the opening half.
Tanner Shepherd poured in 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Triton, which improves to 3-1.
Skyler Reichert had 18 points and Darren Harrell 12 for the Trojans. Jordan Anderson had 11 points and dished out nine assists.
Triton hit 31-57 shots from the field in the contest, including 15-27 from 3-point range.
Keith Rouch had 19 points and Alex Borse 16 for North Miami, which drops to 0-3.
Triton won the junior varsity contest 46-16. Jeremy Jones led the Trojans with 14 points.
Triton hosts Mishawaka Marian and North Miami plays at Pioneer on Saturday night.
