Warsaw Falls To Raiders
MIDDLEBURY – The dominant Northridge swim programs flexed their muscles in Northern Lakes Conference competition Tuesday night.
The host Raiders went unbeaten on both the boys and girls side in topping Warsaw and Elkhart Memorial in league action.
Northridge bested Warsaw 122-63 and Memorial 142-43 in boys action. The Tigers topped Memorial 130-56.
The Northridge girls team defeated Warsaw 124-61 and Memorial 117-69. Memorial topped Warsaw 105-80.
Juniors Jayden Parrett and Spencer Davidson were each winners for the Tigers. Parrett claimed first in the 100 backstroke with a top time of 54.38. Davidson won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 59.12.
Warsaw got second-place finishes from Parrett in the 200 freestyle, Zach Taylor in the 200 IM and Steven Rheinholt in diving. The Tigers were also second in all three relay events.
The Warsaw boys team is now 4-1 overall and 3-1 in the NLC.
Freshman Brenna Morgan won a pair of events to lead the Warsaw girls team Tuesday night. Morgan was best in the 50 freestyle in a time of 25.42 and also won the 100 freestyle in a top effort of 55.69.
Seniors Cynthia Juarez and Ashley VanWormer each notched a second place finish for Warsaw. Juarez was runner-up in the 200 freestyle and VanWormer placed second in the 100 breaststroke event.
The Lady Tigers were also second in both the 200 medley relay race and the 200 freestyle relay event.
The Warsaw girls team is now 2-3 overall and 1-3 in the NLC.
Warsasw competes in the Fort Wayne Classic Thursday night. The Tigers then host NLC foe Goshen Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
