No Foul Play In Shoemaker Death
Kosciusko County Coroner Michael Wilson has released information today saying scene investigations by certified crime technicians, autopsy results performed by forensic specialists and information obtained through numerous interviews, find that the death of Aurora Shoemaker did not involve foul play. Findings indicate the young woman died from self-inflicted injuries.
On Sept. 29, more than 13 months after she disappeared, Shoemaker’s remains were located in a wooded area of CR 175 East just south of 8 Square Road, Warsaw. The wooded area was across the road from the mobile home park where Shoemaker was last seen. (See related)
An extensive investigation by the members of the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office concluded the remains were that of Shoemaker, who was last seen Aug. 16, 2012.
The identification of the remains and an autopsy was completed with assistance of the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center, Forensic Pathologist Dr. Scott A. Wagner MD, Dr. Nelson DO, a Forensic Odontologist and Dr. Stephen Nawrocki, a Forensic Anthropologist from the University of Indianapolis.
