Dynamic Duo Pace Triton Win
BREMEN – The 1-2 punch of Kylie Mason and Taylor Hatfield combined to help Triton deck Bremen in girls’ basketball action Friday night.
The pair of standout guards combined for 47 points as the Trojans rolled past the host Lions 79-43 in a Northern State Conference contest.
Junior Mason tossed in a game-high 24 points and senior Hatfield was right behind with 23 as the Trojans improved to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in league play. Mason hit five treys in the win, while Hatfield swished through four shots from distance.
Triton, coming off an impressive 55-48 home win over Tippecanoe Valley Wednesday night, had a hot shooting night in connecting on 27-51 field goals in the dominating win.
The Trojans led 17-9 after the opening period and 36-16 at halftime of the contest.
The trio of Hannah Jennings, Becca Kennedy and Mallorie Jennings each scored six points for the winners. Jaela Meister and Lauren Howstrawser each had five points and Krystal Sellers added four for the Trojans.
Micaela Box led Bremen with 11 points. The Lions are now 2-6 overall and 1-1 in NSC play.
Triton plays at Rochester Wednesday. Bremen plays at Concord Tuesday night.
