Mother Accused Of Abandoning Son
A mother has been accused of abandoning her son, but so far she has not been charged.
Warsaw Police were called to 914 Carrington Blvd., which is in Forest Park Mobile Home Park in Warsaw, shortly after noon Tuesday. According to the police report, Lisa May McKinney, 36, of that address, is suspected of abandoning her 17-year-old son. The state statute applied to the case indicates the boy was left “seriously impaired due to lack of food, care, etc.”
McKinney was most recently arrested on Dec. 12 for a D felony charge of resisting law enforcement. From that same case, she is also charged with an A misdemeanor driving while suspended charge and a B misdemeanor charge of reckless driving.
However, according to Lt. Kip Shuter of the Warsaw Police Department, Child Protective Services asked police to step in and make a report because McKinney has been gone for “longer than a month” and her son does not know where she is.
According to court information, McKinney has been ordered to appear on the resisting law enforcement charge at 1 p.m. on Dec. 26, in Kosciusko Superior Court III.
