Sue Rose Grossman Marker
Sue Rose Grossman Marker, 74, formerly of South Whitley, Ind., passed away at 1:53 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Huntington, Ind., where she had been a resident since April 2003.
She was born March 18, 1939, in Allen County, Ind., a daughter of William Byron and Marian Emelyn (Enos) Bollinger. A lifelong resident of South Whitley until 2000, she graduated from South Whitley High School and Manchester College. On Sept. 27, 1958, she was united in marriage to David E. Grossman. He preceded her in death. On Sept. 25, 1992, she was united in marriage to Larry Marker. He also preceded her in death.
She was employed at Augustan – Irish Patent Attorneys from 1961 until 1967, Whitley County Memorial Hospital from 1967 until 1973 and Dwyer Instruments for four years. In 2000 she became a resident at Peabody Home in North Manchester.
Her memberships included South Whitley United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving relatives include a son: Scott R. (Julie) Grossman, South Whitley; a daughter: Mala R. (Morris) Day, Claypool, Ind.; a daughter-in-law: LeAnn Grossman, South Whitley; four grandchildren; and a sister: Julia Ann Glass, Indianapolis.
She was also preceded in death by a son: Steven M. Grossman; a grandson: Bryce David Day; and a brother: John David Bollinger.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitely. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. The burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
