Warsaw Announces Fire & Ice Festival
February’s First Friday event in downtown Warsaw will be the annual Fire & Ice Festival, featuring ice sculptures created by the Michiana Ice Carvers.
Sponsors for the ice sculptures are also being sought. Last year, 46 ice sculptures were sponsored by downtown businesses, which then had the either 300 pound or 600 pound block of ice specially carved and placed outside the business. Last year, a few of those included a beer mug outside of Mad Anthony’s, penguins and frogs near Reinholt’s Town Square Furniture, and angel wings to commemorate a cancer victim. (See related)
Again this year, each completed sculpture will be fitted with either colored pod lights or fire to set them off.
The Fire & Ice festival will officially begin at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, and conclude at 9 p.m.
To sponsor a carving, click and print the Sponsor Form and submit it to the Warsaw Community Development Corporation by Jan. 21, 2014.
