House Committee To Review Marriage Amendment
An Indiana House Judiciary Committee will hear a proposal and companion bill today focused on an amendment to the state Constitution that further defines marriage. The companion bill is aimed at defining a portion of the proposed amendment that expands the scope of marriage to include other relationships such as civil unions.
If the passes during this legislative session, the issue could go to a public vote.
Many employers and universities in the state still oppose the amendment, saying it would limit their ability to compete for top talent.
