Mason Paces Triton Victory
BOURBON – Kylie Mason turned in a huge performance Tuesday night to pace her Triton girls basketball team to a big win.
Mason canned 25 points as the hosts topped New Prairie 67-45 in a Northern State Conference contest.
Mason, a junior guard, hit 9-16 field goal attempts. She was 5-7 from 3-point range as Triton snapped a two-game losing skid.
The Trojans, now 8-5 overall and 2-2 in the NSC, raced to a 25-8 lead after the opening period in a dominating effort.
Taylor Hatfield had 13 points for the Trojans, who shot 23-50 overall from the field. Triton connected on 6-12 treys in the win.
Hannah Jennings had eight points and seven rebounds for Triton. Mallorie Jennings netted seven points. Krystal Sellers and Becca Kennedy each had five points and Lauren Hostrawser four for the winners.
Madison Cody led New Prairie with 16 points. The Cougars, who drop to 2-12 overall and 1-3 in the conference, had 25 turnovers in the loss.
Triton plays at Culver Friday night in another NSC contest. New Prairie hosts NSC foe Jimtown Saturday.
