Whitley County Emergency Management has issued a travel advisory and are encouraging residents to stay home if travel is not essential.

The advisory has been issued due to drifted and snow covered roads which are impassable in some places. Drifts have closed roads in many areas of Whitley County and, while county highway crews are out trying to open those roads, travel remains hazardous.

Additional snow accumulations totaling 2 inches to 5 inches are expected through Monday.
