Parrett Paces Warsaw Swimmers
MIDDLEBURY – The Northridge boys swim team, as expected, is poised to run away with the team title in the Northern Lakes Conference Meet after preliminaries Thursday night.
The dynamic duo of juniors Jayden Parrett and Spencer Davidson from Warsaw, as expected, are poised to claim individual NLC titles come Saturday.
Parrett and Davidson each turned in top times Thursday night as the Raiders hosted the NLC preliminaries.
Northridge, which went 7-0 during the regular-season portion of the league schedule, has the top times in eight of the 11 swimming events headed into the meet finals Saturday afternoon.
Parrett clocked the top time in both the 100 freestyle race (49.19) and the 100 backstroke event (53.87) on Thursday night.
Davidson was the fastest in the field in the 100 breaststroke race with a time of 1:00.78. He also posted the second fastest effort in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.94.
Warsaw finished 6-1 during the round robin portion of the NLC schedule.
Top finishers for Wawasee in the prelims Thursday night included senior Zach Hershberger in the 50 and 100 freestyle races, junior Mason Germonprez in the 200 IM and sophomore Logan Brugh in the 200 freestyle.
The finals for the NLC Meet are scheduled for a 1 p.m. start on Saturday at Northridge High School. The diving prelims have been changed and will be held tonight (Friday) starting at 6 p.m. at Concord High School.
