Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Thursday, Feb. 6, 6:55 a.m. Driver: David M. Jarrett, 32, North 650 East, Pierceton. Jarrett was traveling eastbound when he lost control on the roadway, slid into a ditch where his vehicle rolled over onto the driver’s side. Jarrett was able to climb out his passenger side vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damages: up to $10,000
Wednesday, Feb. 5, 4:24 p.m. West SR 25, Burket. Drivers: Darrin D. Drudge, 47, East 650 North, Rochester; and Jorge N. Nunez-Giron, 54, South Meadow Drive, Warsaw. Drudge and Nunez-Giron were both traveling south when Drudge attempted to pass Nunez-Giron and a second vehicle. Drudge struck into the snow plow of Nunez-Giron’s vehicle as he attempted to turn into a driveway. Damages: up to $5,000
Wednesday, Feb. 5, 6:44 a.m. East U.S. 30 and 900 East, Pierceton. Driver: Stephen Summers, 66, Hartrey Drive, Evanston, Ill. Due to snow conditions on the road, Summers slid off the road and got stuck in a ditch. Damages: up to $2,500
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Wednesday, Feb. 5, 3 p.m. East Arthur and North Detroit streets. Drivers: Daniel Wilbourn, 53, Water Point Lane, Hoover, Ala.; and Duane K. Cessna, 66, Baxter Circle, Elkhart. Wilbourn was northbound on Detroit Street near the East Arthur Street intersection when he rear-ended Cessna who was slowing in front of him. Damages: up to $5,000
Wednesday, Feb. 5, 5 a.m. Anchorage Road. Drivers: Unknown; and Cassandra L. Cline, 21, West Market Street, Warsaw. Cline was eastbound on Anchorage Road when a vehicle pulled out in front of her at the Shamrock Trailer Park. Cline struck the vehicle that failed to yield the right-of-way however the black SUV fled the scene. Damages: up to $2,500
Wednesday, Feb. 5, 12:47 a.m. West Center and North Lake streets. Drivers: Chad M. Keen, 20, Westwood Road, Winona Lake; and Ever G. Gutierrez Franco, 24, West 250 South, Warsaw. Keen was southbound on North Lake Street approaching the intersection at West Center Street when his brakes locked up and he collided with Gutierrez Franco. Damages: up to $5,000
Winona Lake Police Department
Officers of the Winona Lake Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2:06 p.m. Nottingham Place and Wooster Road. Drivers: Paul M. Berger, 64, Sunset Drive, Warsaw; and Clifford D. Buttermore, 23, Ayrshire Drive, Canton, Mich. Berger was plowing on Nottingham Road for Grace Village when he backed up to plow more snow and extended partway into Wooster Road’s eastbound lane. He was struck by Buttermore who was unable to slow down to avoid hitting Berger. Damages: up to $2,500
