On Thursday, Feb. 13, 16 Jefferson Spartans gave up their recess to enrich the lives of residents at Grace Village Retirement Home.

Students gave the residents hand-made Valentine’s Day bookmarks and wished them a Happy Valentine’s Day. The idea came from the Jefferson Family Groups where all K-6 students learn leadership and team building skills. The groups meet bi-monthly to work on projects that will enrich the lives of others.

In February, Family Groups decided to make a craft for the residents of Grace Village and deliver them near Valentine’s Day. The reception at Grace Village was very well received and many residents said it “made their day.”

Jefferson Elementary is proud of their students who chose to enrich the lives of others.
